Stubborn little guy!

Well, we had our final ultrasound and the baby was was still bum down. They won't deliver him that way because it is too dangerous for Mommy and Baby. They gave us 2 choices: schedule a C-section or try an external cephalic version, which basically means they soften the uterus with an IV drug and then push really hard on the outside of the belly to see if they can turn him. We thought we'd give the version a try.

We set out early Monday morning to be admitted for the procedure.

The doctor made 3 attempts, but Baby wouldn't budge. We think he's pretty comfy that way, and the doc says there may be a reason that he's there, like a short cord that is tethering him there. The version was very painful and caused Melody contractions bad enough that she thought she might go into labor! Trent was a great coach. He helped her breathe, and we made it through. Melody'd better get used to that shnazzy hospital gown look, because we'll be back next Friday, Nov. 17, for a C-section! Yipes! It's so crazy to know Little Guy's birthday!

Trent took the day off to stay with sore, bruised Mommy. He also took advantage of the time to grout the bathroom floor. It's looking pretty fancy in there!
