Playing in the Fort

Remember when the Mountainview Resort was under construction in March? Well, now the weather is perfect, and the boys love playing out there. We even got some furniture and accessories to encourage them to drift that way on sunny afternoons. Here are some classic shots of "Captain Point Sword" and "Little Wing" out in the "Super State" (headquarters for the superheroes) OR "Captain Spy" and "Junior Captain Spy" in the spy hideout. Depends on the day. They crack me up. The pictures of the kitchen in the middle of the lawn are from when we sprayed it all off at the beginning of the season. They just couldn't wait to try it all out.

These dishes were mine when I was a little girl. Good thing we got a shot of this one before it got stepped on under the swing set and shattered into a million pieces. *sigh* Ah, well. At least I was the one that did it. And whaddaya expect when you're playing with boys with 30-year-old hard plastic dishes under a swing set? haha

Love my boy-boys.

Don't miss out on Liam's new words! I'll be posting on the sidebar if you want to keep a lookout.    ------------------------------------------------------>

15-month-old Liam

Still cute as a button and such a little love. A little more on the crazy side now that he is starting to walk and talk though! He also loves to color (!!!), dance to any and all music, and follow his big brother around everywhere! We love our Liam! He is such a little (and HUGE) blessing in every way.

Height: 29.6 inches
Weight 23.4 lbs

Liam's words

da-da - Daddy
ma-ma - Mommy
ta-deh - Camden
ga-ga - Granmy
pa-pa - Poppa
dah! - dog
bur - bird
buh -  book
hi  - hi
 bah-bah -  bye-bye
bo! - boo!
doh! - go
up - up
dow - down
dat - that
dis - this
mmm? - please
mm-mm - no
uh-oh - uh-oh
pup - cup
ma! - milk
shhh! - yes, he does shush us, lol
pop-pop-pop - "Popcorn Popping" song
bo-bo, bo-bo, da-da-da - "Bozo the Clown" theme song

He also occasionally tries to bark-talk at the dog, which I find hilarious. It's not even a loud or obnoxious act, more like a soft, intimate chat with small "woof"-type sounds. I crack up every time he does it.

Happy Kitchen Helpers

Camden has been putting away the silverware for some time, but now Liam has started helping too. Only Liam likes to put the silverware away when it is clean and when it is dirty. *sigh* And ...

He has also assigned the silverware a new location. So, now when I load and unload the dishwasher, I get to go on a treasure hunt through the low cupboards too, and I also have to examine each piece to see whether it is clean or dirty. Ah, the adventures of motherhood! I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world! Haha!

Random Fun

We've been saving up some pictures, so here they are! In case you've been wondering what our crazy boys have been up to, here's a quick rundown. In the past few months they have been ...

exploring

hanging out with cousin Libbie

chillin'

napping

making a few messes

being goofy

teething :(

doing oompa loompa imitations ala dried mango

rockin' out

being angelic

dealing with yucky stomach flu, ugh

enjoying sticky rice! (head to toe)

being amazing, super, and strong

And most of all just generally charming the pants off everybody.

Liam is Walking!

Well ... Liam woke up this morning and decided, "I'm going to walk today!" He's taken one or two steps before this, but today he just took off. Camden had to get in on the action too, of course. He pops in and out of the frame singing a song he made up and doing various acrobatics. Just business as usual around here with the crazy little boys!

Family Party for Liam

Here's the second half of Liam's one-year-old celebration/shindig at Granmy and Poppa's, complete with the official cake made by Mommy with love.

What's that you say? You want me to keep a crown on a my head? Don't make me laugh!
Mommy is somewhere in the background
putting the last few finishing touches
on the cake. Here's proof. ;)
TADA!
Cutest birthday boy on the planet!
Please note the cute mini-cake lily pads for which to share with the rest of the fam. :)
Hmmmmm...
Maybe I'm a mean momma, but this one just makes me burst out laughing.
Is Blueman Group looking for an apprentice? Because I know a cute possibility.

At the end of the day: Funfetti cake? Not a huge hit. Real buttercream frosting made from scratch? Yep, a huge hit. In fact, he ate most of it. (What can I say? He's his mom's kid. I've always preferred the frosting too, ever since I was a little girl. End piece, please?) And then the little dude positively vibrated for about 24 hours. No joke.

He opened presents the next day, Sunday. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa, Mima, and Daddy for mailing the awesome clothes, toys, and books! He loves them all!

Happy Birthday, Froggy Baby. We love you so much.

Liam is ONE!

Happy Birthday to the cutest 1-year-old on the planet! Much to Granmy & Poppa's delight we ended up celebrating in Virginia. (Out of 4 grandchildren, it is the first birthday party they have been able to attend.) We celebrated day-of with some cupcakes and saved the big stuff for the weekend when more extended family could attend so ... stay tuned, more pics to come.

Love the bib: "Will smile for food"

Kind of a pitiful attempt, but oh well. The best is yet to come on Saturday, people!

I had to do some coaxing.
After a while he was okay with it!

Messy boy!
