Happy Halloween!

Actually these pictures were taken last Saturday, when I tried the costume on for size. The poor little guy has now had the stomach flu for 2 days, so I don't think we'll be dressing him up or taking him out anywhere this year. What a crummy first little Halloween for Camden! But... isn't he just too cute?!

Fuzzy Jammies

Here's a clip especially for Granmy, who recently sent us some fabulous blanket sleepers! Thank you, Granmy! Part of what I wanted to capture was Cam's crazy hardwood-floor crawl. I figure his crawling days are limited at this point, so I'd better get it on tape!

FLINSTONE ALERT! Does anyone remember how Fred Flinstone would show really boring videos of Pebbles, and all their houseguests would be falling asleep and drooling? I confess I might have a little Flinstone in me to go along with my Mamarazzi gene. So if you ever see a similarity there with one of my videos from time to time, please excuse me. However, keep in mind that there just might be a far-away grandma in Virginia who is glued to it!

Winter Coat

So much for Fall! First snowstorm of the season today (7 inches!) necessitated our bringing out the big coat.

Autumn Days

Mother Nature and Father Time are at it again! Autumn has most definitely settled in.

Here's what we've been up to:

The last phase of harvesting our garden, carrots and potatoes.

Whoah, look at those huge carrots!

Growing lots of new teeth!

Watching Daddy chop up the leaves.

Getting a little extra fiber.

Birthday Wishes

Today is Granmy's birthday!Happy Birthday, Granmy! We looove youuuuu!

Rocktober

Our Colorado Rockies swept the Arizona Diamondbacks in the pennant last night, which means... Rockies are the National League Champs! WE'RE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!

We weren't actually at the game last night (we went earlier in the season), but it sure is fun that Camden's first baseball game ended up being during the best Rockies season in history! Right now they are 21 and 1!

GOOOOOO ROCKIES!!!!

Yipee for Freebies!

Many thanks to Camden's great-grandpa and great-grandma for our lovely living room furniture. They are moving into assisted living today and gave us their couch to add to the set they gave us a few years ago.

Camden is a big fan of the new arrangement. One of his favorite activities is cruising laps around the perimeter of our "coffee table" wicker chest in the middle of the floor.

Also involved in the gifting was a china cabinet! That's just Camden reminding me that the cabinet still needs to be baby-proofed. He's so helpful.

Who, me? I di-n't do it!

I was pretty psyched to put my china out. It's been packed away ever since our wedding. Thanks, Mommy, for handing down the pattern I remember from my childhood. (Hard to see in the pictures, but it's delicate pink and white roses, and each dish is silver-lined.)

And Trent was extremely excited to put out his Western Ware, which he also inherited from his grandparents.

If anyone ever wonders about whether marriage involves compromise, all they need do is check out our fine dishes.

We're thinking about a family tradition that involves using Daddy's dishes for Thanksgiving and Mommy's for Christmas.

On the move again

This morning, I was working in the kitchen while my little guy was
playing on the floor. As often happens, he crawled around the corner.
When I peeked to see what he was up to, this is what I saw...

In case you're wondering, yes, he did knock the camera out of my hands after that.

A new way to play

How can you tell when it's time to convert the ExerSaucer into an activity table?

Also, while working at the computer the other day, I glanced over to see him "sitting" in it upside-down, hanging all the way over the side, so that his fingers could brush the carpet. Thanks to Granmy and Grampy for getting us the 3-phase one; now we'll just convert it, rather than having to put it away.
