Snow Day with Daddy

Only in Colorado can you have a foot-plus snowstorm in March followed by a 55-degree cloudless day to play in it.

Yes, that's a rock in his hands.

Little snow angel family.

That's one HUGE snowman! We had so much fun building it together. When I asked Trent his strategy, he said, "Decades and decades of practice."

We asked Camden what we should name him, and he said simply, "He's gonna melt!"

Poor little guy was too tuckered out even to stand up for another picture. After all, the snow was almost waist-deep for him in some places.

Having been snowed in for a couple days, we've been having some fun inside, too.

Yesterday morning he said, "Mommy, we can build a tent to-gedder," while nodding his little head and batting those big, wide eyes. How could I resist?

Two

He's so bright and articulate that sometimes I actually have to remind myself, "Oh yeah, he's two."

Uncle J-Rock & KT-pants!

Okay, this one is way overdue! A couple weeks ago, we had the pleasure of having Jared and Katie come stay with us for a whole week. (Jared's in-laws gave them tickets as a graduation present for J, who just finished his degree in biology at U of R and is headed to med school later this year.) We loved every minute of it. We already pretty much knew that Uncle J-Rock is the coolest, and now we have confirmed our suspicions that the newest member of our family, Auntie Katie, is also the BOMB-diggety! We love you guys. What a fun trip! Here are some defining moments:

Jared contemplating their delayed connection at the airport.

Bored at the airport, playing with the camera. They crack me up. They are so perfect for each other.

The weather was beautiful, so we had a few picnics!

Cutie patootie.

Celestial Seasonings tea factory, tour center, and gift shop. It was very windy in Boulder that day! (Skinny-Minnie kt almost blew away! hehehe)

Jared and Katie enjoyed the hair nets from the factory tour so much that they wore them around the house for a little while.

Yeah, baby! Love the net! Work it!

Camden's interpretation of this pic: "Daddy's funny on there!"

Cam must have requested this book (conservatively) 50 times during their visit, and his kind uncle lovingly obliged, even characterizing the different players with foreign accents. The Cockney baby bird was my personal favorite.

Of course we had to take them to Cam's favorite place: the nature and science museum. Here's a shot of Camden doing his thing in the space exhibit. He always wants to go there first.

Scary times at the dinosaur exhibit with my silly brother that I love.

J & K treated us at our favorite restaurant (especially Camden's), Pasquini's. Thanks, guys! (What better "thank you" can you get than this face?)

Temple night. So fun. It was wonderful to be there together.

We sure wish we lived closer to those guys, and hopefully, we'll see them again soon!

Baby's First Star Party

He saw Venus, Saturn, and Daddy's favorite, the Orion nebula. He LOVED it! Keep in mind, this kid can already name all his planets by himself. As Trent said, "Aw, honey, we're raising a little nerd." What do you expect from two nerds?

I love my super-cute boys!
