Hello, World!!!

Hi, everybody. My name is Camden Joshua Feist. Sorry it's taken me a while to let you guys know how things are going, but it's been a little bit of a crazy ride the last few days. It all began on Friday, Nov. 17...

Mommy and Daddy got up at 4:30 a.m. We had to report to the hospital at 5:30 a.m. for our 7:30 a.m. C-section. Mommy was very tired. She didn't sleep much the night before, because I think she was pretty excited to meet me.

At the hospital, Mommy and I had to put on a funny dress.

Then Daddy got into his cool blue outfit. It was almost time...

Daddy was excited to meet me, too. He did a great job comforting Mommy and making her feel less nervous about surgery. Right after this picture was taken, Daddy put on his face mask, pointed to Mommy's belly, started breathing like Darth Vader, and said, "I... am his father." That made Mommy laugh really hard.

Before anyone knew it, I was here. I was born at 8:05 a.m. I weighed 7 lbs., 4 1/2 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. I was pretty mad for a little while because I was cold! I still don't cry very much, except when I'm cold.

But then the nice hospital people bundled me up and took me to meet my Mommy for the first time. She was so happy to have me close! She couldn't believe that I had just been inside her, only a few moments before. And... I was finally warm, so I quieted down. She was happy, I was happy...

What can I say? Life was perfect at that moment.

After that, while they sewed Mommy up, Daddy and I went to the nursery, where I got a little check-up.

Finally, Daddy and I went to recovery, and Mommy got to hold me for the first time.

Then we checked in to our suite, where Mommy, Daddy and I stayed for the next few days. That's where we had our first family portrait taken. Here it is! (They made Mommy wear blankets on her head because her body temperature dipped for a little while and they had trouble bringing it up again. But we took the blanket off for this picture. Shhhhh... don't tell!)

We had a lot of good bonding time.

Daddy took lots of pictures of me. Sure, Dad, I'll pose for another one...

Daddy thinks I am pretty awesome.

And Mommy adores me.

Daddy thought it was pretty cool that the Flight for Life landing pad was part of our view. He would take me over to the window and say, "Look, Camden! That's a hel-i-cop-ter."

Daddy and I spent a lot of time in the hospital chillin'...

...and playing. I love the little Mickey that Mommy and Daddy bought me while they were at Disney a couple months ago.

But -- whew -- sometimes all that playing wore me out.

It takes a lot of energy to be so cute. Oh, by the way, here's a picture of me contentedly sucking on the paci they gave me at the hospital. I make faces when Mommy and Daddy try to give me anything other than this kind. It's my favorite.

Before I knew it, on Monday, Nov. 21, Mommy and I were getting ready to go home. I even got to wear a cool new outfit.

Don't I look adorable?

We had lots of stuff to take home with us. Daddy had to fill this cart twice to get everything down to the car.

I let everyone else do the hard work, while I snoozed in my new little seat. I didn't even put up a fuss when Daddy buckled me into it for the first time. I am such a good baby.

Here we are getting ready to get into the car. The nice valet people brought it right up to the front of the hospital.

Here I am getting ready to take my very first car ride. See me all tucked in the backseat? Mommy was excited to go home, too.

Finally, we got there: Home Sweet Home.

Here's my new little house that Mommy and Daddy have been working so hard to get ready for me!

Mommy and I were pretty exhausted from the trip, so we headed right in to bed. Mommy changed me into something a little warmer. It was a little bit big on me (My little legs only fit about halfway down the pants part), but I'm sure I will fit into 0-3 clothes soon. For now, I'm just wearing newborn and premie stuff. I'm just a little guy!

My talented Daddy figured out how to set up the camera so you could see a picture of all three of us on the day we got home. Aren't we a cute little family?
