New Front Porch

Before you ask... Yep, Trent built it! He had a lot of spare time while Cam and I were getting spoiled rotten in VA. He started jack-hammering the day we flew out and had it all finished by the time we returned home 1 week later. (I know, I know - he's amazing.)

In case anyone's forgotten, here's what the front of the old porch looked like. It was slowly sinking toward the house, causing water to drain into the foundation. Not to mention the steps were pretty tall, which posed quite a hazard, especially in icy weather. (Wow, I've lost a lot of weight since this pic was taken.)

Under Construction:

To say a lot has changed in the past couple years would be a little bit of an understatement!

Nov. 2006 (the day we got home from the hospital, just a few days after Camden was born)

Sept. 2008

Thanks, hunny, for all your hard work and amazing talents (and for taking care of us and our house and keeping us safe)! You're the best! ;)

Rita's

Cam and I cruised over to Rita's to enjoy some Italian ice with the fam the night before we headed back home to Denver -- a fitting farewell to summertime. (September is already very much autumn where we live.)

Virginia Beach!

Here are plenty of pictures of Camden's very first beach experience -- compliments of the Mama-razzi, of course.

Granmy, Poppa, and Baby Boo all set to go!

The mommies and the babies.

Setting up camp.

Scoping out the situation.

Not quite sure what to think about the sand. At first, he ran over to stand on a towel, tried to brush off his feet and said, "I all dirty, Mommy!" (What can I say? He's my kiddo alright.) It took a few minutes to convince him it was okay, and after that he had a blast!

He's a water baby through and through -- just like his daddy.

My adorable nephew and his model-esque mommy.

Snacktime! Goldfish crackers and the beach: a Valle family tradition.

Thanks to all the tropical storms, the waves were sooooo sweeeeeet!

Missing my hunny.

Hanging out under the umbrella.

Check out Samuel's sweet set-up.

Feeding the sea gulls (ohhhhh Granmy!).

Nora and Samuel enjoying a mommy-son moment.

Granmy and Camden soaking in some sun on the boardwalk before heading home.

Harrisonmania

Here are some random "hanging out" shots from Camden's and my visit to VA (many of them swiped from my rockin' little sistuh with love ... heh ... thanks Becka!)

Nora and Samuel chillin' in my parents' backyard.

Story time with Joseph (Katie looks so riveted! haha)

Sistuhs! Katie, Melody, Becka, and Nora.

Apples to Apples, a recent Harrison Family tradition.

My little musician.

Adam and Joseph tossing around the football.

Ah, the bliss of newleywed-ism. Jared and Katie are so cute together.

Gateway to the West

We spent Labor Day at the St. Louis arch with the Johnsonses! Yippee! It was so much fun.

Isaac is soooo cooool.

The whole gang (minus Trent, the photographer) waiting in line to go to the top of the arch.

Squished in the pod on the way up.

Camden sure enjoyed the view. He climbed up to the window, looked straight down and said, "Whoooah!"

City-side view.

The park underneath. (See the shadow? I thought this was a great shot. Go, hunny!)

Classic Cam and Lydia.

The Mommy and her favorite little boy.
